The other issue is American companies buying Canadian and Mexican pork and beef and putting an American rubber stamp on it, which we forbade, again... Because of our biosecurity and health laws.
That and as a Nation we want to support the US, not other nations in our Australian = American trade agreement. - Normally Republicans are all about putting America first, so why the defense of trying to resell Mexican and Canadian meat?

So basically it's the same issue as in Europe with American poultry. If it would adhere to European standards we'd have them also in our stores, but since they don't...

And that comes down to the same reason American cars don't sell. If they were actually built to the quality standards of the markets they're trying to break into, not to mention the roadways, they might have a better chance. But the oversized trucks and duallies that Ford and GM subsist on are not for most European or Asian roads or the needs of everyday drivers in those countries, and the build quality really isn't up to par. Even in the U.S., outside of the F-Series, Silverado, and Ram, the best-selling vehicle lists are dominated by Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Hyundai.
