And that comes down to the same reason American cars don't sell. If they were actually built to the quality standards of the markets they're trying to break into, not to mention the roadways, they might have a better chance. But the oversized trucks and duallies that Ford and GM subsist on are not for most European or Asian roads or the needs of everyday drivers in those countries, and the build quality really isn't up to par. Even in the U.S., outside of the F-Series, Silverado, and Ram, the best-selling vehicle lists are dominated by Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Hyundai.
