Torpoleon said: @Mnementh @Mar1217 I also think the NS1 version will have the bulk of ZA's sales, just because the install base will be significantly higher there. Maybe the NS2 version will leg it out (I believe PS5 versions of games were more popular than their PS4 versions, for example), but the NS1 version should have a huge advantage. If anything, a NS2 version could at least prevent ZA from being the lowest selling core series Pokemon game of the Switch era so far. @Zippy6 We also got Mario + Rabbids confirmed at E3 for an August 2017 release (it was heavily rumored in the months prior though). Worth pointing out that could be an exception since it is a third party, but I feel like Nintendo is more likely to keep things closer to their chest this time around. I'd imagine they don't want any more Prime 4 situations. Only game I could really see being announced for later this year is 3D Mario. Could be like a Direct reveal in July or August, following by a dedicated direct in September and release in Oct/Nov. A lot of what Nintendo showed off in 2017, as you pointed out, ended up getting delayed past its original planned release. FE & Yoshi were 2018 initially and I'm sure Nintendo didn't think Prime 4 would take until 2025. 3D Mario is the only announcement for 2025 that I'd be expecting because of the anniversary and upcoming movie release. @zorg1000 Could've sworn there was some discourse about the 3D Mario team developing Peach Showtime. I agree that it is likely that they are the ones working on DK, in line with the rumors and how this game looks. If we don't get 3D Mario until next holiday, I guess it could be a combination of them working on big games + covid delays. I just don't feel like it should take that long for 3D Mario, especially since we'll probably get Pokemon Gen 10 for holiday 2026 (although maybe that will be on NS1 and NS2). @CaptainExplosion Late 2025 is way too early for Gen 10. That should be holiday 2026. Could see Gen 10 and its DLC being released on both NS1 & NS2. I would say that the next Legends game should be NS2 exclusive, and that should be around 2029. |
But I thought this year would be 3 years since Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Aren't new generations of Pokemon usually 3 years apart?
