My thoughts on everything announced.

- The Switch 2 itself looks cool. Sleek and user friendly. Not too different from the original Switch. i wonder what other colors will be available down the line?

- The Game Chat feature/C Button is welcome but it is kinda sad that Nintendo is touting this as a major feature in the year 2025. We've had game chat for decades at this point. It is much better than the horrible situation on Switch though so I look forward to it.

- The Switch 2 Camera, shout out to the PS Eye Toy. Where are all of the people who complain that Sony always copy Nintendo?

- Mario Kart World looks great from a gameplay perspective. Having this be the big Day 1 launch title is a great move. That price though is wild! Where are all the people who dogged Sony for raising their prices to $70?

- Nintendo Switch Welcome Tour being a paid digital download rather than a free pack in title is a frigging joke! What are they thinking? Astro's Playroom shows you around the PS5, is a great game, and is free with every PS5.

- The Legend of Zelda BOTW and TOTK being Switch 2 enhanced and launch day titles. Not bad. I am glad they are getting physical releases as well. I will buy TOTK on Switch 2. The standalone prices are insane though. Just goes to show that these games were too ambitious for the Switch performance wise.

- Donkey Kong Bananza looks really cool and launches about a month after the system. I will buy it if it is good. I guess 3D Mario will be next year's big title.

- Kirby Air Riders - okay, but why release the same year as Mario Kart World?

- Nintendo saying that Switch 2 plays 3 types of software is confusing and misleading. The Switch 2 Editions of Switch games are just Switch 2 games.

- Gamecube games on Switch 2 Online + Expansion Pack. Expected. I will probably buy the GC controller. This might convince me to sign up for the Expansion pack down the line.

- Drag and Drive - wow a wheelchair basketball game is definitely something unique. Doesn't look particularly smooth. Guess this is meant to show off the mouse controls.

- Joy Con 2 mouse controls, could be fun or could be gimmicky. Time will tell.

- Metroid Prime 4 Beyond getting a Switch 2 edition, also expected. I hope this game has multiplayer.

- Physical Game Keys - it is nice they are being more upfront and transparent about physical games that do not actually come on the card. I will never buy any of these games. I hope all Nintendo games are actually on the cart.

- Duskbloods is a good get for Nintendo. Not my type of game though. If Nintendo is the publisher and own the IP this is the most high profile new IP shown for them in a while. I honestly thought it was Bloodborne, lol.

- Third party support looks decent but it is mostly ports of games already available on PS/Xbox. Welcome to the party Nintendo.

- Console price is too high outside of Japan. Not sure if Nintendo have already priced in Trump's tariffs. I think $400/$450 would be a more reasonable price. Never expected Switch 2 to have a higher cost of entry than PS5 at launch. I would still buy the $400 version and get a separate physical version of Mario Kart World.

- Software and accessory prices are seriously crazy. Again, I hope Nintendo is pricing in the tariffs. The $70/$80 baseline for their game prices is indefensible.

- Launch date. It's good the wait is not too long. I don't think many successful platforms have had a summer launch though. I don't think the system will have trouble selling for the first few month but after the holidays will be a different story.

- Overall the system looks decent and the software lineup is shaping up nicely. The biggest issue is the price but Nintendo also make other stupid decisions. I am definitely not buying one Year 1. Still got lots to play on my OG Switch.
