Hmmm ... I got back home to watch the presentation ....

It's actually pretty much what I was expecting from the whole thing. Didn't think they would start immediately with MK World however but it's easy to understand how this game alone will have the power to sell the system by itself, be damned people who think that only a 3D Mario or 3D Zelda games have that power lol.

The overall presentation of the hardware was simple enough but just enough detailed to understand whatever the upgraded entailed.
Can't say, I'll ever use the GameChat however. That's a feature that really seemed to lack "polish" on what they showed there.

Also, selling the hardware software "demo", really ?!

As for games announcements, at least first party wise, I am completely whelmed by what I saw, ESPECIALLY considering that most of it is concentrated towards the summer period so far for exclusive Switch 2 titles.

I don't understand the fear that they'll suddenly have nothing from September to December but Switch 2 Edition of Switch 1 games or 3rd party titles.
Seems obvious to me we'll get a summer Direct in some capacity.

Anyway, having MK World and Donkey Kong Bananza in the first two months is excellent for the early momentum. Also it goes to say cross gen titles like Metroid Prime 4 (pushing some sweet 120fps !) and Pokémon Legends ZA (Decent running HD Pokemon game, finally) are non negotiable factors as well.
Kirby Air Riders is a BIG surprise however which isn't talked enough sadly ... Especially because it has Sakurai back at the helm !

For close partnership games, honestly another Hyrule Warriors this time for the Imprisoning War prequel is just perfect. It already looked substantially more advanced than Age of Calamity ... Also maybe Free Roam exploration ?

And the crown jewel apparently .... A new EXCLUSIVE Bloodborne 2 .... Hum no BloodSouls game by FromSoftware which is likely the biggest 3rd party get from Nintendo since probably Resident Evil 4 really.

The 3rd party showcase was also chuckful of announcements from every major publisher in industry. Basically, this a current gen system and they'll invest their games in it. Cyberpunk, Borderlands, a better Hogwarts version, Daemon X Machina, 2K and EA. Dixit, everyone's here ....

And maybe that's much to be cramped into such a singular moment ? Like I don't know if I'll honestly be able to give my money to so many games on day one or so ...

Annnnd Silksong jumpscare 🤣 Sweet Deltarune Ch 3 + 4 release is gooood.

So I think the software presentation was actually good, not mindblowing but real good nonetheless.
Hum the real caviat now is obviously like everyone has pointed out now ...

The prices

Thing is, I don't mind personally paying that much for games like MK World knowing what the experience will entail and the actual scope of it.

Though, 80USD before tax for a physical copy ?! Oh wow, they reeeeeally want to make people shift to digital with a decision like this. Though we haven't gotten CAD prices yet so maybe this just something that has to do with the tariffs there ?
Though, yes I'll pay for my physical games nonetheless.

And it seems some of them will be alongside the 70 USD mark too like the DK game, sooo what's going on ? TOTK pricing will become the norm but the "Extra" big 1st party games could be 80 $ ?!

That's just a weird move and prohibitive for the casual consuming crowd early on.
But most of the early adopters are gonna be the hardcore crowd so I don't fear for them early on.

Great Direct, quite the few questions when it comes to pricing after but at least, the games will keep coming. I don't see them going the route Xbox and PlayStation have had this generation with their sparse 1st party releases.

Also Kirby and the Forgotten Land DLC Campaign YOOOOOOOOOOO I'M SO INNNNN
