Of course it is great for Nintendo, you can have a super high profit margin without even doing huge revenue. The original point was not an analysis of the different models, it was a question of why a Zelda game can sell 10m on release and Wilds can only do 8m. Part of that is the relative lack of competition, regardless of whether it is possible or not for those third parties to release their games there, they generally don’t and that’s a contributing factor.

Where i question your analysis is that in the end its third parties themselves that ignores Nintendo, while Nintendo would still prefer if third parties supported Nintendo consoles, even though the lack of support makes it easier for Nintendo games to dominate easily on Switch.

I don't think that matters to the actual heart of whats being discussed. This isn't about who's at fault or blame, but why Nintendo software is more competitive regardless of userbase. Going back to your OG post:

" Is the PC market smaller than most people think? If Steam was much bigger than Switch in terms of user base, how can big Switch only games have a bigger launch than big PC launches (Plus Xbox and PS)?"

Only a select few phenomenon truly demonstrate the size of the PC+Console Userbase. GTA5 (210m), Skyrim (60m), RDR2 (70m)
