First of all, let me get some things clear: I don't hate Dragon Ball, neither do I hate Goku. The fact that I don't get along with fans of this series doesn't automatically makes me hate Dragon Ball and it's characters.

In other words, this isn't a hate letter to anyone, it's just my opinion.

Well, back in the late 2000s and early 2010s, I had a somewhat popular brazilian blog about Super Smash Bros. I still update it, but in a very slow pace, since blogs are pretty much dead, or at least nowhere as popular as back in the days. It wasn't huge, but it had it's fair share of visits and comments.

People would love when I made posts about Super Smash Flash 2. Since owning a Nintendo Wii wasn't very easy here in Brazil, and SSF2 could run in any computer with internet connection and Flash support, it was by far the most popular subject in my blog. Then... Well, people found out about Goku joining the roster.

McLeod added the Dragon Ball protagonist. Probably because people literally worship him around the internet. That's Ok, he's a fighter after all. But... Well, let's just say I even lost motivation to talk about Super Smash Flash 2 in my blog after a few incidents.

When I were to post links for people to play the beta versions of SSF2 in my blog (I remember McLeod even thanked me for spreading the game, he's such a good person), my blog users usually would post comments like those:

"How do I turn Super Saiyan 3?"

"When is Vegeta going to be added?"

"How do I unlock Vegeta?"

"Are more DBZ characters coming?"

A detail: Vegeta wasn't even planned for the game back then.

Literally almost all the comments were about Goku and Dragon Ball characters to come. I was slightly disappointed that nobody was talking about Lloyd, Sora, Tails, and other characters McLeod had added. It was all about him.

But there was one day when I lost my composure. There was this random guy, who posted something like that:

"Man, this game is garbage, why can't Goku kill everyone with a single punch? He's the most powerful being in the universe. And if McLeod wants to make a good game, he should add Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Trunks, Krillin... This game makes no sense."

At first I thought he was joking, but he wasn't. He was serious about it, since he kept talking similar things to other people at the comments session. My answer to him was something like this:

"Dude, you don't even know what Super Smash Bros. is about. If you want the entire DBZ roster, you should go play a Dragon Ball game instead."

Yeah, no. If Goku gets added to an official Super Smash Bros. game, I can see what would happen. Fanatics for this series will ask for it to become a Dragon Ball game with Nintendo characters. Or they will complain the game is not balanced because Goku should kill Mario with one finger.

For the good of our favorite fighting series, Goku, and any other Dragon Ball character, should stay away.

That's my opinion.
