It depends. There are people who don't have other consoles, so Switch would absolutely be their primary system. And there are those who might have a PlayStation or Xbox but really love Nintendo games and play some third-party games on Switch.
For those of us who play plenty of games, it's common to have Switch as a secondary system. PS4 was my primary system from 2019-2022, with PS5 as my primary from 2022-present. Switch was my primary from 2017-2019.
