It would still sell well at $450-500, just less because some people simply don't have that kind of money to spend on a relative luxury like a console. Nintendo has always made sure their consoles are affordable.

If you look at the Switch back in 2017 it was very expensive. 330€ for the Handheld itself. 90€ for a pair of Joy Cons, 70€ for a Pro controller, 25€ for an original protection case... compared to that, an Xbox SS seems like a steal. Add in the fact you can get a new PS5 (no disc) for ~400€ the Switch was/ is less afordable than you think. I am sure incliding accesoirs and games i spent ~10.000€ for the Switch all together in te last 8 years! For the PS5 i own less than 40 games and we are in it's 5th year past its peak. Xbox SeX even less.

Every system has those hidden costs for controllers and accessories and such though.

$300 for a convenient hybrid system with a massive library of games is a good deal, plus the Lite cuts that down to $200.

$400 for Switch 2 would be a good deal too provided it delivers in terms of games.
