On the Japanese Market? They have, well if we ignore Mobile gaming market which is in fact the biggest gaming segment in Japan Only about 7 million gamers plays primarily on PCs in Japan, and another 7 mi plays on both PCs and Consoles That's said PC gaming has grown substantially in the last years, so maybe this can take away some of Switch 2 sales. Still there is no way for Switch 2 selling less than 25 million, 3DS sales are the absolute floor for this console and the odds of it selling above 30 million are really strong |
If they had a monopoly then surely the Switch would've been the base platform of development for monster hunter Wilds? Since most sales of monster hunter are from japan? Why would Capcom allow their franchise which is hugely successful in Japan to miss the system that has a monopoly? 3DS did a lot better than people realise, considering it had no new gimmick like the dual screens of the OG DS or the Switch. Saying 3DS sales are the floor is severely downplaying it's success. Remember the 3DS was much cheaper than the Switch 2 is going to be. Much cheaper.
