Oh I am hyped, I assure you.
Hyped about the software prospects mostly. The hardware side speculations and leaks burned me out completely.
Just imagining the few ways they can push new titles in their great series or new possible IPs and partnerships with 3rd party studios makes me quite excited to the coming future.
My outlook on a few things :
- New 3D Mario (probably in the vein of Bowser's Fury) and a new Mario Kart (FINALLY!) looks to be insanely probable for the Switch sucessor first year on the market.
- Pokemon Legends ZA may have a Switch 2 version on release but I'm not counting on it since Game freak isn't known for multitasking different hardwares at the same time.
- Monolith Soft, probably the biggest Studio owned by them, has a title in Xenoblade X DE releasing soon-ish. It could have possibly an Switch successor update to push a degree a fidelity that would enhance the experience.
Mostly, it's about their new project by Takahashi which has been working on a new project for a while now. This isn't a launch year title of course but people have suspicions that could also be working on a game for the launch year of the system ... Which isn't impossible but less likely because of XCX DE now.
- Metroid Prime 4 is a prime candidate to be amongst the first few titles to be launched as a cross gen game when the successor will come out.
- Maybe HAL Laboratories as something Kirby related for that first year, who knows :)
