Well, I mean it's useless at launch, depending on how long devs have had it, it should theoretically become something that could be worth it even if the gen lasts only till 2028, especially is it gets a sale. That's 3-4 years of better game experiences (hoping that devs make use of it better than they are now) and give the possibility to wait out the cross generational period safe and sound for a bit while the PS6 is out of stock for two years. Even if next Gen starts in 2028 it only starts for a very lucky few. |
I'm pretty sure there were leaks long ago saying devs had new hardware they were playing with, which would've been Pro. If they were correct, which looks like they were, devs who had it, should've had plenty of time.
Better experiences sure, but how much better for how much more money? Having a top tier steak with gold leaf sprinkled on it would be a better experience, but would that really be a more useful meal, especially at the cost?
Next gen can't start until the hardware can be reasonably more powerful at $499 or less. Until that's possible, there's no point in moving on from PS5 (Pro).
