GTAV sold 1.81M in Japan as of August 2023. Salnax made a post of most sold Western games in Japan back in Nov 4 2020. GTA V was #6 on that list.

So I expect GTA VI to sell near 2M in Japan for its lifetime.

2M is huge for a Western game, but compared to what Nintendo brings to the table nowadays it is child's play.

Considering the number of peeps who had to double down on the game due to it's close next gen re-release. I doubt about such good results
