No one tries to claim an XBox Series S is a completely different class of hardware from the Series X.

It seems to me on that it's perfectly understood, "oh yeah it runs the same games just at a lower resolution and frame rate" and there's no one arguing it's a PS4 generation system.

Find me posts where the usual critics here were complaining up a storm when the Series S is was announced and saying no one should consider it a PS5/XSX tier system ... I bet they didn't have shit to say at that time. In these threads what happens is when Series S is brought then *magically* (of course) now the issue of modern architecture becomes a point, of course though this cannot apply to the Switch 2. You see only the Series S has magical next gen architecture and only it benefits, so you're not allowed to say a Series S is "just a PS4 Pro", for example, that's against the "rules" they've invented.

If Switch 2 games are all just Switch 1 games running at different settings (a cross gen period of years and years), people would complain about that too, that's not the same thing at all, that's just people wanting software to take advantage of new hardware, nothing more, nothing less.
