Depends when and if there will be a Switch2 Lite.

The Switch Lite model is not the most selling, but still good for a couple of million per year and is a good family friendly priced model (also) for the multi Switch owning family. Especially if Switch2 will be $400.

If there will be no Switch2 Lite (soon), I can see the Switch Lite will keep on selling for another 4 years. In terms of content there is a mountain of 3DS games to port like Luigi Mansion 2HD.

You just made me think more about likely end-of-life Switch 1st-party games are.

After Switch launched, 3DS got a lot of budget titles. The last first-party game released on 3DS was Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn on 8 March 2019. There were other ports and even some cheap remakes in there.

Some 3DS games that could still come to Switch

-Tomodachi Life

-A Link Between Worlds

-Fire Emblem games (particularly Awakening)

Kid Icarus Uprising would almost surely be a remake whether it comes out for Switch or Switch 2. They'd have to tweak the controls a lot, unless they can do that while keeping the game mostly the same and just upscaling the graphics.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)
