Now that it's been announced, Mario Bros Wonder will definitely be in the running for biggest game of the year as well, plus Tears of the Kingdom has blown up even bigger than expected, passing 18 million in it's first month and a half. COD MW3 will probably end up at #1 thoguh on brand name alone. Will be very interesting to see where Hogwarts ends up; lifetime, 30 million plus could be on the cards. |
Yea I could honestly see TotK taking the crown for end of the year sales except maybe for CoD (kind of hard to tell just how much the average CoD game sells, but obviously a lot). TotK is probably at around 20 mil by now and still doing well on sales charts, definitely bigger than I would expected pre-launch. Ignoring CoD and (not) FIFA my current guess for the top 5 would be:
- Tears of the Kingdom
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Diablo IV
- Super Mario Wonder
- Spider-Man 2 or Starfield (Starfield will have more players probably, but since it's on gamepass Spider-Man might have more actual sales)
Baldur's Gate also probably won't be too far behind.
