The german parliament (Deutscher Bundestag) decided on Friday, to remove paragraph 219a. So far this paragraph punished advertisement for abortion. As the law was worded badly, this in effect lead to doctors not being able to put up information about abortion, while non-doctors could release informations as they saw fit. With abolishing the paragraph doctors now can inform their potential patients about the risks and upsides of this procedure. The law came under scrutiny, after a doctor was convicted under this law for releasing public informations and the case draw public attention.
