Shouldn't we compare it to wii sports resort rather than the original, considering resort launched well into the wiis life. If we compare switch sports to resort it has a number of advantages, the biggest being price, I can't remember the price of resort but I imagine it was high due to the motion plus add on. Another advantage is the switch having a larger install base than the wii. Personally I don't think it will sell as much as resort but I think 20 million is very possible, particularly going by the success of ring fit. |
I think it will sell at least 10+ million, but Ring Fit will have years of being on the market this game won't have. If Switch 2 comes out even as late as 2025, then this game only has 3 years (maybe a few months less or more) before Switch 2 comes out and many people stop buying Switch 1 software.
Wii software had the benefit of Wii U tanking and most consumers, especially casual, being completely unaware of its existence (because of how similar the name was) and continuing to assume Wii was the flagship device.
