I mean, we are getting new third party games for Switch; this year there's Monster Hunter Rise, No More Heroes 3, Ghosts 'n' Goblins Resurrection, Bravely Default 2, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Rune Factory 5, Atelier Ryza 2, Shin Megami Tensei V, etc.

As Conina points out though, ports take a lot less resources, and if the devs in question aren't planning to make new games on Switch anyway, I'd rather have ports like Dying Light than just miss out.

And how many of those comes from devs who released the miracle ports originally? I'm no saying there are no 3rd party on Switch, I'm saying the amount of praise give for devs porting older games from other platforms is unwarranted.

Radek beat me too it, but with how expensive and time consuming it is to make new games for modern platforms, and their existing commitments to AAA game development for PS/Xbox, a lot of these devs simply won't have the money, time, and manpower to spare to also make all new games from the ground up for Switch. It'd be awesome if they did, and I'd love to see more new games from some of these devs, but I'd rather have ports of their PS4/Xbone games than nothing.

Like I say I actually really loved games like Witcher 3 and Doom Eternal on Switch.
