I mean, what's the alternative? Just not port games like Dying Light to a system that's sold 92 million and is still going strong?

Yes. What's the matter?

It's not like those kind of games are selling nearly as much as they sold in their original systems.

But those kind of games don't have to sell nearly as much as they sold in their original systems. They only have to sell more than the porting costs.

Win-Win for developers/publishers and the people who want these ports for their system.

I for once want devs to release games designed to run on Switch, games that don't look barren of awfully inferior versions of PC/PS4 counterparts.

These games are released, too.. additional to ports of older games. Development time and development costs for porting are only a fraction of developing new games. No new game gets ditched in favor of a port, it's no either/or decision.

Usually ports are developed by porting specialists like BluPoint or Nixxes while the (more creative) original developers are working on their next game.
