Here's an interesting tidbit:

According to Nintendo, sales for the regular Switch model are actually up from last year. It's the Switch Lite that's WAY down. Bringing overall Switch sales down in the process.

Hardware
5.68 mil units -> 4.45 mil units -21.7 %

Nintendo Switch 3.05 mil units -> 3.31 mil units +8.3 %

Nintendo Switch Lite 2.62 mil units ->1.14 mil units -56.7 %

But we've been told here the Switch was used as a portable 90% of the time, that doesn't make any sense

Even though Lite is cheaper, you have less options.

If they would have kept the Switch output video in the usb-c and released it with a dongle instead of a dock, it would have sold way more.

Dongle like this would work perfectly with a portable orientated device, just to be used when the occasion needed it.

I have used a similar dongle with my own Switch in multiple situations such as visiting friends, in hotels and vacation homes.
