At least I can spend just $10 to upgrade my PS4 version to PS5, instead of already paying $60 for the PS4 copy, then $20 for the DLC expansion, then another $70 for the PS5 directors cut.
Having to repurhase a PS3 game on PS4, remastered or not, first party or not, was a much less convenient option. SNY is clearly headed in the right direction here.

PS3 - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.
PS4 - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.
PRO -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.
PS5 - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.
PRO -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
