I am so happy! This basically is what I wanted them to do: a newer version to entice people that are somewhat on the fence about getting a Switch, and potentially get some more purchases from the hardcore that want the OLED, but nothing that would be such an upgrade that they have to delay Switch 2 release. The fact that they don't even have a "new" or "pro" attached to it, along with the fact that it isn't 4k really tells me that Switch 2 is coming in 2023 or the latest 2024, which is what I want. If they went all out with this device and sales exploded then I suspect they would have delayed Switch 2 launch until 2025 or later and that would have been a massive bummer for me. Hopefully, we get a proper 6-year life cycle and Switch 2 coming March 2023, this news about the OLED version certainly gives me hope.
