If your reason to buy a PS5 is to play your "many" PS4 backlogs, it would be more logical if you just keep on using your PS4 with these games and buy an upgraded, midgen version of the PS5 in about 3 years. Besides, many games about to be released on the early life of PS5 are crossgen with the PS4. Because once the PS5 Pro comes, the PS5 that you had bought to play your PS4 games is now outdated. Unless, shelling out is not an issue for you. |
Clearly shelling out is not an issue for the people buying a brand new $499 console at launch. And these oversimplifications will never reflect the reality of why people buy a console. No one is buying a PS5 with the sole intention of Playing PS4 games, but the improved PS4 games is an added incentive which makes them more comfortable early adopting ahead of bigger releases due in the next 12months.
