Of course everyone can appreciate and enjoy what they want to, myself and a lot of people enjoy movies from all genres and thematics, but those movies not necesarily have something really "great" or "relevant" from narrative, technical and other points to evaluate, a lot of my friends liked football soccer related movies, ok they were kinda entertaining for them but from the things presented in the movies they weren't something one would go and proclaim as the best of the best that has ever been done if put under thorough evaluation.
For Snyder movies i consider from MY evalution point of view when watching them that his best works have been the ones where the plot/history has already been handed to him and where he didn't have to change much from what was already written, if you go and read the comics of 300 and watchmen it's almost as if he just copied the panels and converted them into keyframes, also at that point he didn't go overboard with the darkening of the movie brightness and the color grading, for his DC universe directed movies he was given completely free reing wich resulted in some messes of movies, okay maybe i went a lot overboard with the "turd" but certainly they are bad movies as a longtime fan of the DC superheroes i couldn't help but feel more than dissapointed with the movies but outright scammed, for the first time in several years i went with a friend to watch Man of Steel in a big sceen IMAX and with all the expectation since the last Superman movie was Returns in 2006, and we were at the point of leaving the theatre when that completely nonsensical scene of Pa Kent and the tornado came to supposedly gave the drama, after that the movie carried tirelessly with "the fights" that were mostly invincible dudes tossing themselves for an hour without truly achiving much, when we exited the theatre we were dumbfounded mostly by the nonsensical things in the plot and characters that were done to supposedly create "drama", personally the best scene for me in the movie was the character of Christopher Meloni standing up to confront Faora while knowing he didn't have any chance to beat her, and when he told her back that "a good death is its own reward".
Also while Snyder certainly is stylish and has talent for special effects, he filters his movies so much with dark filters and whatnot that it makes harder to see what is happening sometimes, i don't know if someone didn't taught him but a lot of people watching Batman v Superman complanied about the same in the theaters here, ok you can style your photography as you want but if there are a lot of scenes were the public can barely see anything because it's too dark or like in the scenes where Doomsday expells a lot of energy, a lot of people wanted to see more/better action with clarity on the screen, that same complain extended to the suicide squad movie.
As for the thing i said about "some critics", not "all the critics" nor "the majority of critics", just some critics is that it is okay they were impressed by something that happens like in the event of the Justice League Apokolips war or from the flashpoint storyline, but reading some of them it is clear that they are mostly just just carried away by the wow factor of the happenings without caring the construction, the adaption of flaspoint like storyline hasn't in my opinion been done well in other media because it was something even more personal for a lot of characters, just like Bane was a character that was never gave the characterization he deserved in adaptions until Christopher Nolan gave him something more akin to his capabilities in the comic, and i will add because those reviewers i read made the mistake to do unnecesary external comparissons and also reviewed purely on their gut, one of them for example is a reviewer i discovered that also said years ago that BvS was a historical event on cinema like no other a before and after not only on comic book movies but in movies in general, some reviewers like those also appeared after i looked on some opinions of Apokolips war, after i watched it i was like ok what the heck happened, and a lot of people were like "amazing our heroes were decimated and f*cked up in most brutal way by the bad guys", and I would just say ok that's right BUT it was just because in this case they removed the plot armor for everyone, they have been battling this intergalactic, godlike monsters and evil forces in several movies and suddenly NOW you remember that everyone is not Superman level of strenght or invincibility, you decide to dissable the internal media suspension disbelief for characters like Batman that supposedly are "normal humans", and also completely nerf characters that are kinda at superman level like the green lanterns, that is just plain bad writting.
I think i have some arguments and reasonable basis to classify a movie as i do, but well, this is what i can say about the DC movies helmed by Snyder, if you say it is because i just like to vomit trash because i hate Snyder and all that ok, good on you, i just state what i think about the DC universe that he started with a lot of dissapointments beginning with MoS, following with the worse BvS, the similiar really bad Suicide squad, improving with Wonder Woman, the Whedon Justice League was bad but at least it was shorter, Aquaman was at least more visually stuning and entertaining, and for me the best DC movie that finally realizes some of the spirit of it's comic book characters and does it greatly is Shazam, now thanks to you and this reply i have remembered that i also haven't seen Wonder Woman 1984, and now i realize i wrote something this long on the board, so apologies if it is too large or going offtopic have a nice day Hynad.
