SNES vs N64 is tough ... Super Mario Kart, DKC, Star Fox, F-Zero, Pilotwings, Yoshi platformer series (yeah I would also say this was basically a new IP), Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon Versus Super Mario 64 (which I do consider the start of a new "franchise" in effect), Super Smash Bros., Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, Mario Party, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf. But if you factor in Rare stuff too ... Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark, GoldenEye, Jet Force Gemini, Blast Corps, Diddy Kong Racing, Conker ... it becomes fairly lop sided. Unfortunately Nintendo sold their interest in Rare, but at the time they were basically considered part of Nintendo. |
Thing is much as I loved some of them, those Rare IPs didn't go on to become Nintendo franchises, Xbox has them since the 6th gen. That's in contrast to something like DKC which was made by Rare but using a Nintendo IP.
