Go and explain death stranding to someone. Do you know how many people went on to love the game after first reading about it and having doubts??  Plus it's not all about just watching, sometimes it's feeling it  for youself, and being immersed on your own. Sometimes it's the controls, or the figuring out part for yourself that is completely different to watching someone else do it.  Plus every game seems to have its high and low reviews. You don't know for sure where exactly you will fit in if you don't go in with an open mind and try it yourself.

So if you watch a game on Youtube and you think "This game looks boring and I hate the story" all the way through. That can all change completely after playing the game for yourself? Just seems like an excuse because you yourself love the game so much. Not saying that is the case, it just kinda comes off that way.

Now TLOU2 is my GOTY, but I still think its interesting to hear from people who didnt like it. Doesnt make the game any less enjoyable to me.

Sometimes I play games and don't like the story.  Gameplay is still the saving grace, and trumps story.

Death stranding for example, to me looked boring from what I saw online, but experiencing was totally different. The feel of the controls was tight and realistic, it was more personal when playing on my own no distractions, was immersed in the world, I had to think for my self and things were at stake. It's a totally different experience when you are given the pwer of control.  Games like minecraft and animal crossing don't appeal to me at all, and I think how on earth can someone play that, but I bet if I let my mind go play it for a few hrs there is a 50% chance I might like it.
