It seems like they took the initial ~90%+ the switch was selling vs 2019 and just multiplied it by 2019 totals. Increasing so much during the holidays is very unlikely.

First assumed they mention the forecast in their article, but it's not mentioned.

Must be a bad estimation, or Asia has been producing and buying consoles in secret

The graph shows 22 years in its x-axis, from 1998 to 2020 and to reflect that I updated the thread's title.

It is weird, as they wanted to reflect the handheld and home consoles market sizes, but did not show figures since the Gameboy's launch.
