Just Finished: Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories HD (As part of the Kingdom Hearts All in One Package) (PS4)

Another Kingdom Hearts game crossed off the list. The card battling system is comprehensive but still unwieldy at times. No wonder no future games in the series used it again. It is quite impressive that this originated as a Game Boy Advance game. The story is still a convoluted mess. Even though the story is cannon most of the Disney world stuff feels like recycled filler. The difficulty curve of this game is still ridiculous. Again, these games are aimed at children! Why make it so difficult? The art style is still appealing. There are a lot of small niggling annoyances about the cards, synthesizing rooms, buying items etc,. The end game is stacked with repetitive boss battles that are not much fun and just pad out the length. The Riku story is a nice bonus and plays differently enough to be interesting. Thankfully it is shorter and easier as well. The music is delightful. Five more Kingdom Hearts games to go.
