Could it outsell the DS?? I think it's possible, it really depends on how long Nintendo plans to support the Switch, also the amount of new iterations that release, and how far Nintendo is willing to expand markets outside the big 3 NA, Europe, and Japan. I also think more casual games and more broadly appealing games will help a lot since the DS got a lot of market share from it's casual crowd with games like Brain Age and Nintendogs. The Switch is appealing to this crowd to some extent with stuf like Animal Crossing and Ring Fit, However they need to continue to double down on those casual experiences to get more people on board the Switch ecosystem.
