Okay after watching all the additional scenes, I can see why they were cut given how long the film is already.
I did however really quite like the fish monster in the swamp scene, wouldn't have minded if they'd made room for it by trimming short stuff like the boat trip, the V-Rex fights, the stampede, and some of the attempts at developing the minor characters that mostly come off as filler.
As much as I really like the 70s Kong, the one area where it does fall a bit short is the lack of creatures outside of Kong and that random giant snake.
