Imo it is a scam

They know the collection is not as worth as new AAA game, so they are putting a deadline to people rush their purchases so Nintendo will get enough money on their Q3/Q4/Q1, until they release proper AAA titles

Plus announcing SMAS 1 on Switch online as a new game is a scam too. Those games are already available on Online on their original version, there is no reason to announce it as a new thing when they are not

Well they would have made even more money if they didnt put a deadline on it since there are still people who will buy a Switch after the game is no longer available. Seems like its just to celebrate the 35th year of Mario.

Also everyone knows what All-Stars is. Its on the SNES Online service.

If it was just about a celebration they would release it for free, this collection is to make money

It's just it's not worth it enough to make as much as they want for a AAA game

Sure, they still need profit for software sales and looking how dreadful is current 1st party line up for this second half of the year they are doing what they can for increase 1st party software sales even if it's hurting future revenues

Next year they will release more games and those games will sell a lot of course, they are now probably more concerned with short therm than long therm
