Just Finished: Bioshock (as part of Bioshock The Collection) (PS4)
I finally beat Bioshock. I actually started playing the game about two years ago when I originally bought the collection for $30 new. I stopped playing when I got stuck because of a bug. Overall I enjoyed the game. The game world, lore, environments and architecture are amazing. It takes a lot of inspiration from Atlas Shrugged. My biggest issue with the game is that the difficulty was frustrating. I kept running out of ammo and did not think I had the right abilities to take on waves of enemies or Big Daddy. I had no choice but to keep dying and being revived at Vita Chambers. The games needs a dodge mechanic. There is a lot of depth to the gameplay which I admire. So many options to explore and upgrade your tools. The constant hacking minigame and having to deal with the cameras and turrets was annoying. The game was downright creepy at times. I chose to harvest all of the Little Sisters so I got the bad ending. I watched the good ending on YouTube though, both are kind of abrupt for all the work you go through. The final boss was a total pushover. I do not know if I will play Bioshock 2 or Bioshock Infinite any time soon. My score would likely be higher had I played the game close to its original release.
8/10
