I think the better way to put the t-shirt reply would be that in an end of the world type movie, this "I survived (blank)" individual, would almost certainly meet their demise by the end of the film, and in a fashion that would be extremely rare and ironic.
Luckily life isn't a movie, though it's getting harder to tell the difference everyday.
