Sony cant. They were atop an empire before the ps2... then the ps3 almost bankrupted them. How quickly we forget a poorly thought out system can drown a company like sony in multi billions in losses for basically the entire gen. Microsoft can afford it... sorry, sony just cant. They arent the big dogs anymore as far as size. They make money... jow... but they sure as hell cant waste it. That's just laughable. |
If PS3 almost bankrupted SNY because they couldn't afford it, then how are they in the position they are in now with PS4?
Not sure how PS4 has ever been able to go on sale then. Unless PS was still making money at that point. In which case you have to wonder, why didn't MS ever make the price difference between PS4 and XB1, $100, or even $200 cheaper? Why wasn't XB1X launched at $299 or less if MS is so keen on losing money on hardware to gain market share?
If it's as simple as, 'just drop the price by hundreds, who cares, we aren't here to make money', then why hasn't MS done so yet? Isn't it MS who was poking fun at SNY about why they were 'taking so long' with cross play? Gamers are still waiting for their $99 XB1X. Man MS is such a greedy anti-consumer company don't you think?...
