Subspace. It was flawed and incredibly clunky, but seeing the characters interact with eachother made it worth while. WOL has its moments, for instance [spoilers]when it breaks out into a game of Street Fighter 2s arcade mode [/spoilers] but these moments weren't enough.

The reward for playing WOL (aside from unlocking characters which could be done more easily) was just more spirits, which isn't all that exciting to me. I enjoyed the cutscenes in SSE more.

Exactly why a Subspace Emissary 2 mode seems so attractive. It's easy to see the flaws of the first, and how it could be tightened up for another go. Despite some of the issues, I still found the first game came off quite successfully due to its ambition; the good outweighed the bad. The bad is also very fixable.
