Oh few personal notes on software:
Looks like Smash will be taking the physical retail crown this year beating out Monster Hunter with the final week next week. I honestly at the start of the year would have not guessed Smash would take this crown. (Given at the start of the year, I thought a proper Pokemon game was coming out and Monster Hunter did amazingly).
Switch has amazing increases on software, someone already listed all the percentages. However the one to celebrate is Super Mario Party, that thing is proving to be a beast. Kind of reminds of Minecraft Vita, where it sort of feels unreal that the IP still has strength to do numbers like that. I know historically the franchise did really good, but I thought the damage would have been done, plus the casual audience would be gone.
Judge Eyes and God Eater actually pretty meh this week. I think Judge Eyes will need decent help from the west to prove to be a breakout hit, that it most likely deserves (I always want Yakuza team to do amazing, like they use to do with the PS3's Yakuza games). As for God Eater, wonder if this will change the franchise or even put an end to future mainline title (not spin offs).
Dragon Quest having 10,000 difference is surprising. I thought it would be bigger personally because of PS4 already having a number of properties and this franchise already established itself more on the PS4. However with that said, Dragon Quest itself is meh, not a bomb like some are saying, but meh. I was looking into picking up the first title for the PS4, but do not know if I have time, between Ace Combat 7, Super Robot Wars T, and my huge backlog.
I am amazed at the lack of strong titles in Week 51 for PS4. I really think Namco should have tried to put Ace Combat in December in Japan, and not near Kingdom Hearts. That is just me.
Hardware note: It is surprising that both switch and PS4 declined (just a small bit), but both did really good regardless.
