The problem with the whole "share the Joy" concept with the Joy cons is it's really not very comfortable to gather people around a tiny 6 inch screen, it's really a bit too small for that. I've never really used my Switch that way. You need a screen more in the range of 8 inches for that to work well, playing Mario Kart 8 that way, I mean yeah you can do it, but it's kind of ridiculous with the split screen.
