PS3 sold 2,1 million in 18 months. Avrg monthly sales for the PS3 are 116,666 and that means PS3 would need to be on the market with this sustained sales for 172 months or 14,3 years.

But take into account that the PS3 sold 350,000 units this last 6 months so that avrg up there is inflated by the launch. The avrg for the last 6 months is 58,333 units sold. At this rate it would take the PS3 28,5 years to reach that mark.

I know it would be less than 28 years due to holidays and price drops, but the reality is that PS3 will NEVER reach 20 or 15 million units sold in Japan like you say, unless the console lasts 15 years at a minimum.

 

 Your maths would be only valid if the 10-15K weekly sales kept going.You dont know what would happen if a slimline BC machine was released.So stop talking shit.

 

You stop talking shit please. Read my post carefully and you will see that at the current LT monthly average I said 14,3 years. Which is at 28k/weekly... Is that the number we are seeing? No, and until I see a stable 28k/weekly I will say it will take the PS3 longer than 14 years to reach 20 million. I'm being realistic and you are being bitter because of the truth.
