Or adding games onto PS+/GwG are just part of the marketing deals the companies make, like Destiny 2 on PS4 and Battlefield 1 on Xbox. BF1 just went to GwG a couple days ago though so wouldn’t impact this list. No doubt you’d see D2 on the PS4 list if it weren’t given away “free”.

Possibly. More likely however, D2 hasn't been doing so hot overall, so a freebie is a decent idea to try and gain some momentum. Just like how a bunch of Battlefront freebies came about during/after the Battlefront 2 debacle, we've now seen D2 freebies do to it's issues, and BF1 freebies do to the BFV controversy. BF1 dlc expansions have been popping up for free on PS+ for quite a while now, and premium pass was free recently, or still is, on PS+.

PS4 has at least twice as many consoles out there, yet PS4 is only 57% of the Destiny console population, while XB1 is 43%.

Idk what I’m supposed to be looking at there, it just tells me there are 12 million unique players.

Battlefield 1 is on the Xbox list and not on PS4 yet it was given away on Xbox and not PS4. The trackers already had Xbone slightly ahead, now it’s more than double. You’d think with the PS4 having more consoles in the US they’d be alarmed BF1 was doing lower and would give it away on PS4. Plus more users = more people to buy DLC and more people interested in BFV.

Too bad we’ll never know actual sales.

It pops up differently for some reason. You have to look under stats on the header. I laid the numbers out anyway.

BF1 is 6th on the PS4 list. I don't believe the BF1 dlc and premium pass was given away on XB1, while it was on PS4. You might think that PS4 should get it for free as well, and maybe they should, but EA/Dice may feel like it would be a waste and wouldn't get them anywhere on that platform. Looks like they tried to offer the dlc free to PS+ players to see if that bait could sell the game, which apparently hasn't been working. It also may be trying to entice BF1 owners like me to buy into BFV now, which it won't, so maybe the next step will be to give it away free on PS+ and try to gain new customers. EA/Dice would much rather have you immediately buying into BFV though, and not playing BF1 free for who knows how long instead.
