It almost seems like they didn't want to change the entire Witcher universe/geography/history for the sake of diversity in one key role.
That said, I don't really feel like this actress is channeling Ciri, she looks too frail and scared. The Yen choice is interesting, but not entirely what I imagined either. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt though. And honestly, I'm still more skeptical about Cavill in the lead for this one, I just can't rightly see it.
