Update: Latest rumor shows casting for a white Ciri | Original: Netflix looking for non-white actress to play Ciri in the Witcher tv series

I know almost nothing of The Witcher but it seems weird that they specify a large range of ethnicities but exclude others, they can't have a set vision for the character's ethnicity if they are open to multiple ones. Why not just let everyone apply and choose whoever is best for the role?
