Fortnite - warning DO NOT play on PS4, or you can't play on Switch (and quick start guide if you're sheltered like me, and didn't know about this game before)

Epic has investors to answer to, but PS doesn't? Who's investors are more important? Should we all just say screw PS and their investors and let the company crash and burn? We all know what happens when there isn't enough competition in the industry. Should we force people who invest in PS to also invest just as much in Nin and MS to make sure everything is always even so there is no reason for any brand to try and up it's game?

Its Epic's fault because they chose not to look ahead and plan for the future, or they simply didn't care and took what they could get from PS. If you buy a set of rims for your car, and then decide you want a different brand of car, but want to keep your cool rims, yet find out that when you go to add them onto the new car that it has a different bolt pattern and they won't fit, you don't go and blame the car company. If you do they will tell you to either go back to your old brand of car or buy another set of rims and tires that fit their car. Why do the car companies do this? To make you spend more money and to try to lock you into their ecosystem. This happens in all industries, everywhere, all the time.

What a hypocritical post. Investors will rather have account switching allowed rather than swaths of bad PR at Sony's faces.

By the way, Sony stock was down 2% because of this. How ironic.  We can't screw up PS investors if PS already is doing that themselves.

What an ill informed post. Clearly your not an investor. What they would prefer is a PS hardware device to solve the problem. One that not only solves this problem, but the many more that apparently are sure to arise just like this. Might as well have those 10 million+ Switch owners switching to a PS Portable spending their money on PS items, making it harder for other companies to compete, adding more profits for the PS brand and more value to the companies shares, and money in those investors pockets. Also better to wait it out until the hardware is ready to launch, instead of rushing broken hardware, or giving into cross platform game play sharing, where once that door is opened it can never be legitimately closed.

I mean why didn't XB just create a solely service based business back then if spending money up front to take business from other companies was such a horrible thing? Why is XB clearly spending a bunch of money now? A stock moving 2% is meaningless. It happens everyday across the market, up and down, and sometimes seemingly for no reason whatsoever.

What happens in a situation like this, is Nin creates something unique like the Switch, which apparently is good enough to buy for $299, but not good enough for the owners since they require a better graphical version on the $299 PS4. You also get things like Game Pass, which ends up useless for the most part because even though it's a really good deal, it's not making many people buy XB1's, so what's the point in PS bending over backwards if based on sales, people clearly agree PS is still pro consumer enough to warrant a PS4 purchase?
