How Nintendo can approach VR

Because of that, I think Nintendo won't bother with VR for the foreseeable future.

Don't get to discouraged on VR. It may not be ready for mass market yet, but it will be vital to our evolution. AR/VR will allow us to interface with computers on a whole new level, essentially allowing us to become cyborgs. Giving us real time data in real life situations, while allowing us to quickly perform simulations in VR before performing tasks. Just like Cameras, Motion, and 3D were building blocks to VR, VR will be the building block to many future technologies. VR will continue to advance, and eventually become as prominent as Smartphones. It is a technology that goes way, way beyond games or entertainment. 

Once it reaches the point where a $300 set up can achieve a comfortable experience to the mass market, Nintendo will make their move.
