Some people in this thread didn't, read the second person posting here who isn't me. Thread title is also called plot discussion and since the movie was new and I had seen it on a midnight screening I wanted to write up most of what I recalled in case others had watched it but missed certain things since I think my OP now covers all story beats it stops posts such as "the heroes deserved an actual death" because the thread has gone on to explain why this isn't the case really.
If people were killed by something other than the Gauntlet along with the Soul infinity stone they would have to do a lot more work to bring them back such as the death of Gamora or Vision requiring the work going on in Black Panthers sisters lab.
But hey, maybe everyone here is just an idiot lol.
