Very close so far, and the Switch had the advantage of the global launch.

It's weird to see the 3ds pretty much identical to the Switch in terms of sales at this point, when we look back and don't think of it as being a very impressive selling machine.

With the price cut, Nintendo sacrificed 3DS's sales curve so that it would have a good first year.
