On a ten point review scale, what number should represent an average game?

Let make the scale smaller, lets say: 1, 2 or 3. Would you still say 3/3 is perfect hence we don't use it? The wrong thought is that a 10 means a perfect game. That is just not what the rating implies.

Again, the title says 10/10 scale. The reason why we use more numbers is to give a larger range, so a game not getting 10/10 is not the same as 2/2 as the former has many more options than the latter.

Yeah, but ignoring 10 is taking away one option, so you end up with a 9 point scale. It just makes no sense.
