I recall hearing lots of people saying " exclusives are bad for gaming "

I've never agreed with the statement but I've heard it lots over the years.

That's different. Obviously exclusives matter for sales of the system. But similarly obviously it would be better for gamers if all games were available for all platforms. So exclusives are important, but at the same time evil.

You normally hear that 'the games would sell more' and 'more money would be made'.....but flaws exist in it.

For example, Japanese games sell badly on the Xbox. Would even putting something like, say, Fire Emblem Switch, Xenoblade 2, and Mario even be worth it on said system.

Not sure what the main argument is these days, but I generally hear it more from non-first party titles. Even if a title is probably funded by the console holder (Bayonetta 2), people will complain.

Oh no, I don't say multiplats would sell more. Exclusive are evil, because this leads to having five systems under the TV. And not that alone, now you need a HDMI-switcher. And you have to pick up the right controller. Seriously, it would be better for gamers if all games were on all systems. If it would be better for sales ... who knows, that depends I guess.
