Seriously, you should stop writting non sense like this. There is no "work" bewteen Luke/Rey. Nothing. We get one hour of a depressed and weak old man grumbling.

It's the most lazy work ever. We have that in every TV show/movie. Old , depressed people who are self defeating and refuse to do anything. If it wasn't Star Wars, Luke would have had some wiskhy bottles right next to him.

It was lazy and disgusting. The fans outright rejected it. They are more clever than you think.

At its basic, sure.  But expanding from there, playing with the legendary status, tearing it down, reaffirming it.  Playing with the flaws that Luke possessed in the Original Trilogy.  Giving Kylo Ren an actual solid motivation for turning to the Dark Side beyond Vader fanboyism.  Building a connection between Rey and Ben.  It's a solid storyline.

I have no problem criticizing Star Wars movies at this point in my life.  The other half of the movie was a distraction at best.  But Rey/Ben/Luke was a very well-told and powerful story.  The gut reaction from some fanboys actually enforces it.  Feeling betrayed by Luke's moment of weakness was exactly the idea.  You're highlighting a feature, not a bug.

I totally agree with this. I felt the chase part with the rebels was more of a filler ut the Luke/Rey/Kylo piece was some of the best in Star Wars. Luke showed how much it affected him that he couldn´t be stronger when it came to Hans and Leias son and decided to live alone while still leaving clues to his whereabouts. The acting in the scenes on the island were great and made me love Luke as a character more than ever actually.
