Usually consoles lauch near the end of the year, meaning its launch year is ~2 months or so.

Switch launched in march right? so its going to have 9-10 months of sales, and its had a big zelda title and a real 3D mario game in its first year.

It just makes sense its the biggest launch year for them.

I took launch year to literally mean 12 months after launch.
