So screw over people who aren't in poorer countries? Why the fuck should I have to pay more for stuff just because my country is wealthier, that doesn't mean I'm wealthier (I'm really not at all wealthy!).

You already pay more for a flat or a house, food, transportation and many other things in a wealthier country.
